Academy of Sport Business
This unique opportunity is held at our world-class facilities at Mineral Resources Park in Lathlain. This program allows students to learn within the elite environment of an AFL powerhouse.
You will have the chance to learn from and engage with industry experts, staff, players, and coaches from the West Coast Eagles. You will develop your sport business knowledge and skills, learn how an AFL club operates, and gain up to 100 hours of work-integrated experience across various departments at the Eagles. By completing the Diploma in Sport Business (F00), you will be eligible to apply for up to one year of university credit towards select undergraduate degrees at ECU. Additionally, the West Coast Eagles aim to potentially hire up to two graduates to take up roles within the Club.

In 2025, we launched the Diploma in Sport Business through our partnership with ECU, delivering Western Australia’s first accredited education pathway that embeds work integrated learning opportunities across the entire West Coast Eagles organisation. This unique program presents a wide range of opportunities for students who aspire to a career in sports.
Course Details
Diploma in Sport Business (F00)
Kickstart your career in sport with the West Coast Eagles’ premier fully integrated education and sports industry program, delivered in partnership with ECU.
The year-long Diploma in Sport Business (F00) course will take place at our world-class facilities at Mineral Resources Park in Lathlain. You will develop the skills and knowledge needed to manage people, build relationships, networks, and teams in sport, and become a better leader.
By completing the Diploma in Sport Business as part of the West Coast Eagles and ECU partnership, students can apply to enrol in a number of degrees offered by ECU.
Graduates will be eligible to be considered for entry to, and apply for credit for, the Bachelor of Global Sport Business Management and Bachelor of Commerce (with a major in Sport Business and/or Event Management). Graduates may also consider the Bachelor of Global Sport Business Management (International) which is a dual degree offered in partnership with the University of Portsmouth in the UK or the Bachelor of Science (Exercise and Sports Science)/Bachelor of Commerce (Sport Business).
